Self-service permits
Self-service permits do not require a plan review prior to issuance and are designed to streamline the permit process for routine maintenance activities or minor projects. Expand the Maintenance and Minor Improvement Permits panels below to see a full list of available self-service permit types.
Self-service permits DO NOT include Temporary Power Pole permits. To apply for a Temporary Power Pole permit, you must submit a site plan along with a completed Part A application.
Limited-scope residential permits for the purpose of a dwelling’s maintenance that do not require the preparation or review of plans.

Electronic (Photographic) Inspection Option
When a California Licensed Contractor is applying for a ‘Reroofing’ or ‘EV Charging Station’ permit, we allow the contractor to choose electronic (photographic) inspections in lieu of site inspections.
Specific larger-scope residential alterations where the permit may be issued online, but plans are still required for the inspectors to reference during site inspections.

Permits requiring plans and review

Issued building permits will be available for pick up during office hours at the Permit Center.
Combined scopes of work where the County’s cost to provide permitting services varies depending on the square feet affected by the construction activities. For the following permit types permitting fees are determined based on the gross area affected.
